Tata Housing, the real estate arm
of the Tata group, is setting up the country's largest gymnasium in Thane under
a public private partnership, Maharashtra, according to a report in The
Times of India.
The project entails an investment of Rs 25 crore and will sprawl
over 1.25 lakh sq foot. The gymnastics centre will be a three-storied building
and will house facilities including team rooms, a physiotherapy room, a music
room, VIP rooms and a jury room, the report said.The facility will be of
international standards and will serve all the six disciplines of gymnastics,
the report said quoting Pooja Surve, an international gymnast and coach based
out of Thane.
The six disciplines of gymnastics approved by the International
Federation of Gymnastics are artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics,
trampolining, tumbling, acrobatic gymnastics and aerobic gymnastics.
